A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the independent provider that supplies those results. Buncombe Residents Directory does not retain its own copy of those search entries. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Our host may record routine server-log details, including an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to maintain the service and understand use of its pages. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
We use the limited information described here to operate the service, fix technical issues, measure overall traffic, and improve content. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
External Links and Searches
This service links to Buncombe County and North Carolina record portals, library materials, archives, and third-party search tools. Their own privacy notices apply to information submitted on their services. That includes sponsored results, which are provided by an outside company.

This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Information Choices

Requests to remove or correct public records held by North Carolina, Buncombe County, or city custodians must go to that custodian. North Carolina's Public Records Law, G.S. 132-1, G.S. 132-6, G.S. 132-6.1, and G.S. 132-6.2, governs access to existing public records but does not override record-specific confidentiality. Vital records have separate limits under G.S. 130A-93 and G.S. 130A-93.1; voter fields are governed by G.S. 163-82.10 and G.S. 163-82.10B; and the Address Confidentiality Program is authorized by Chapter 15C.
